For Architect Ken, this project holds a deep personal significance, as Villareal Stadium was a place where he spent his childhood playing football and making lasting memories. Growing up, the stadium was integral to his life, and as an architecture student at Capiz State University, Ken envisioned how he could modernize the stadium’s fence while preserving the cultural essence of the community. This vision led to the current design—a harmonious balance between modernity and tradition, featuring detailed relief panels that reflect the rich heritage of Capiz.

The fence structure combines modern concrete pillars with sleek horizontal black metal slats, achieving a minimalist, contemporary look that complements the clean lines of the stadium. Natural tones and lush landscaping soften the boundary, creating a welcoming environment that blends seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. Transparent sections and green areas offer a sense of openness, allowing visitors to feel invited into the space while maintaining a secure perimeter for the stadium.

In addition to its aesthetic and functional qualities, the backside of the fence encloses a vacant area beneath the stadium’s stair chairs, which has been creatively transformed into a functional space featuring a restaurant. This restaurant provides a comfortable place for stadium visitors to relax and enjoy refreshments, adding to the overall experience of attending events at Villareal Stadium. By thoughtfully integrating tradition, modernity, and community, the proposed fence design enhances both the functionality and atmosphere of the stadium, creating a space that reflects the local culture while meeting contemporary needs.
